London. The international conference of women entrepreneurs from around the world was held in the city of Manchester, UK, organized by the International Trade Center.
The conference, which took place over two days starting from Tuesday, saw the participation of a Nepali delegation led by Shobha Ghawali, the president of the Women Entrepreneurs Federation Nepal. The delegation included Reshma Shrestha from Sunil Kashmire Pvt. Ltd., Navina Dhakal Shakya from Manushi Microfinance, Geeta Shrestha from Nepal Silk, Lumbina Shrestha from Alpine Pashmina House Pvt. Ltd., Sushma Shrestha, and Sapna Bajracharya Lama from Loom Story Pvt. Ltd.
The event was organized with the goal of promoting the products of businesses run by women leaders to the global market, exploring new market possibilities, showcasing their products, establishing business networks, and interacting with British companies.
The International Trade Center, a joint agency of the World Trade Organization and the United Nations, has been encouraging and supporting small and medium-sized industries in developing and transition economies.
The conference in Manchester saw the presence of 50 women entrepreneurs from Asian and African countries, including Bangladesh, Ghana, Mongolia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Nepal, Kenya, Mozambique, Rwanda, and Zimbabwe.
Ghawali expressed gratitude to the organizers for providing the opportunity for the Women Entrepreneurs Federation Nepal to participate in the event, and she mentioned that the conference had been fruitful in expanding Nepali products in foreign markets and exchanging experiences with women entrepreneurs from various countries.
She also informed that materials made from Nepali handicrafts were displayed at the conference. Half a dozen business establishments from Nepal showcased their products at the exhibition.
At the conference, alongside Nepali handicraft items, products made from bamboo and jute, sportswear, knitted cardigans, hoodies, jackets, knitted scarves, sweaters, sweatshirts, pants, blazers, socks, leather bags, dress socks, compression socks, bamboo socks, fashion socks, and motorcycle safety clothing were displayed for sale.
