Kathmandu – The capital city is currently experiencing its worst-ever air pollution, raising serious concerns about public health and potential environmental disasters. Amidst the crisis, development worker and well known business personality Mr. Shekhar Raj Bastakoti has put forward an innovative suggestion: airlines flying over Kathmandu should carry water and release it from a certain altitude to help settle pollutants and cleanse the air.
Bastakoti believes this method could effectively bring down airborne pollutants, improving air quality and offering temporary relief to residents. “If aircraft flying over Kathmandu can carry and pour water at an optimal height, it will force the pollutants to the ground, reducing the toxic haze that we are currently facing,” he stated.
Environmentalists and authorities are being urged to take immediate action, exploring both short-term relief measures and long-term strategies to address the worsening air quality in the region.
