Sarlahi – The construction of a new eight-room earthquake-resistant building officially began today at Ishwarpur Bela Ma. Vi. Ramnagar Manharwa in Ishwarpur Municipality-9, Sarlahi District. The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Member of Parliament (MP) Chanda Chaudhary of the Nepali Congress, Mayor Manoj Kumar Acharya of Ishwarpur Municipality, Deputy Mayor Ranjita Devi Chaudhary, and other local representatives.
During the ceremony, MP Chanda Chaudhary highlighted the efforts being made to improve the education sector, stating, “This new building will enhance the facilities for students and improve the quality of education at the school.” She also expressed her personal commitment to contributing to the education sector and emphasized that the project would benefit a larger number of students.
The construction of the new building is estimated to cost NPR 16,678,398.77, with joint funding from the Ministry of Urban Development and Ishwarpur Municipality. Mayor Acharya informed the attendees that the building would be constructed using earthquake-resistant designs and that the project was expected to be completed by Kartik 15, 2082 (October 2025).
MP Chanda Chaudhary further committed to creating more opportunities for the school’s students in the future, saying, “I am working to provide computer facilities and will also ensure that the school receives additional educational materials and amenities as needed.”
Deputy Mayor Ranjita Devi Chaudhary also praised MP Chaudhary’s initiatives and spoke about plans to promote girls’ education and health at the school. “MP Chaudhary has pledged to provide sanitary pad machines and other health-related materials, which will support both the health and education of the students,” she said.
Mayor Manoj Kumar Acharya reiterated the municipality’s commitment to improving education and other essential sectors, stating, “We have prioritized improvements in education, health, and basic infrastructure. This building project is a testament to our ongoing efforts in these areas.”
This project is expected to provide thousands of students at the school with new educational opportunities and a better learning environment.
