Shree Pandey: Kathmandu — Strong winds have disrupted flight operations at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), causing several incoming flights to be delayed or diverted.
Multiple international flights, including those from Qatar Airways and Korean Air, were forced to hold in the airspace above Kathmandu on Monday evening due to adverse weather conditions.
According to a passenger on the Korean Air flight bound for Kathmandu, the aircraft circled over the city for nearly three hours but was unable to land. Eventually, the flight diverted and landed in New Delhi with all passengers on board.
The airport authority has not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident. Several other flights have also been affected due to the turbulent weather.
More updates to follow.
