Subject: Concerns Regarding Unity Efforts and Future Participation
Dear Chairperson and Respected Members,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my concerns regarding the ongoing efforts to bring unity within the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) and my decision to temporarily withdraw from future meetings until certain issues are addressed.
As you are aware, the High Court has formed a high-level committee to resolve the existing issues within our organization, with the clear intention of unifying the divided factions. However, I have observed that despite multiple meetings, the level of seriousness and commitment to achieving this unity has been lacking. There is a noticeable absence of a coherent strategy to bridge the gaps between the different groups, which leads me to question whether the intentions behind these efforts are truly aligned with the goal of unification.
Additionally, I am concerned about my inclusion in certain decision-making processes, especially the recent communication in group emails that have included my name, and the terms of references (TOR) of the high level committee . As I was neither consulted nor directly involved in these discussions, I feel that my participation is being misrepresented. I request that no further communications include my name without my prior consent or involvement. Moreover, it was agreed that the Terms of Reference (TOR) would be developed with the involvement of a government representative on the committee and that it would be rigorously discussed within the committee. However, I learned that the TOR was developed elsewhere without the involvement of a government representative and was circulated with my signature without my consent. These are just a few examples of mishandling.
I am fully committed to the idea of unity within NRNA, and I believe that it is crucial for all factions and individuals to come together for the greater good of the organization. However, until I see a clear and genuine effort from all parties to work together, I must respectfully refrain from attending any further meetings. My participation in future discussions will depend on a guarantee that the objective of uniting all groups is prioritized, and that the decisions made reflect this goal.
I kindly ask for your understanding and hope that we can move forward in a more transparent and collaborative manner. I look forward to hearing from you and discussing a way forward that truly brings together the diverse voices within NRNA.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
With warm regards
Kumar Panta
Member, NRNA High-Level Committee
