Deepak Shrestha Re-elected as President of Buddha Foundation UK by Consensus

London. Deepak Shrestha has been re-elected as the President of Buddha Foundation UK by consensus.

The foundation’s meeting, held on Sunday in Plumstead, London, decided to give the leadership to Shrestha for the upcoming term.
The vice-presidents of the executive committee are Sushil Prajapati and Arjun Katwal, while Dr. Surajmani Poudel has been appointed as the General Secretary, Anjana Thapa as the Secretary, Niranjan Khadka as the Treasurer, and Govinda Sapkota as the Assistant Treasurer. The tenure of this executive committee will be three years.

Similarly, the executive committee members include Sachin Shrestha, Harry Gurung, Dhruvhari Banskota, Som Sapkota, Padam Rawal, and Sharad Shrestha, who were selected by consensus. The nominated members are Suren Rupakheti, Ram Thapa, Jaygopal Shrestha, Samjhana Mahat, and Binita Khadka.

Earlier, the head of the election committee, Shivji Shrestha, announced the newly elected executive committee. The session, which was conducted by the committee’s secretary, Phadindra Bhattarai, also saw committee members Vinod Gyalwali and Shri Chandra Gurung offering certificates and well wishes.

Addressing the inaugural session of the meeting, the chief guest, Deputy Chief of the Nepali Embassy in London, Bipin Duwadi, expressed his happiness about how the foundation is branding Nepal and Nepali culture on the international stage.
On this occasion, the Mayor of the Royal Borough of Greenwich, Jeet Ranabhat, Vice-President of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Ramsharan Simkhada, President of NRNA Belgium Sita Sapkota, Chairperson of the Election Committee Shivji Shrestha, Secretary Phadindra Bhattarai, President of Tamudhin UK Jumkaji Gurung, President of Pasa Puchha Guthi UK Sushil Prajapati, and President of the Society of Nepali Professionals UK Gajendra Katwal, among others, delivered their congratulatory remarks.

During the event, artists Vinod Chipalu, Amrita Pandey, Subashish Shrestha, and others who contributed to the Buddha Jayanti program were honored.

The session was conducted by Vice-President Prasuna Kandel, while fellow Vice-President Arjun Katwal delivered the welcome address.

For the success of the meeting, the Nepali Ambassador to the UK, Chandrakumar Ghimire, sent his best wishes through a video message.
